Background: Seneca Resources was concerned that there may be voiding around an existing well head. The well needed to serviced, but if there was voiding it would be extremely dangerous to have the necessary heavy equipment in the area.
GPR Data’s Solution: GPR Data scanned a 40’ area around the well head. This data was used to generate a 3D view of the subsurface. On this occasion, we observed a small area of loose/porous soils near the well head. Because the area was only about 5’ deep it was possible to excavate and recompact the area before heavy equipment arrived onsite. After the minor earthwork, heavy equipment was successfully brought into the area to complete the repair.
