Background: BP personnel detected a leak in a process water sewer line but were unable to identify the location. With hundreds of feet of line running throughout the facility, digging aimlessly was not an option. BP needed a definite location.
GPR Data’s Solution: GPR Data collected multiple data sets in order ensure all areas around the pipe were scanned. This information was transferred to existing as-builts. Processed data sets were built into three dimensional models and correlated with as-built locations. The presence of saturated soils and voiding were identified in two different areas. GPR Data determined that one of these locations was a process-water sewer line leak and the other was nearby leaking water line. Both leak locations were verified and repaired by BP personal.
